There are many types of light that can be used for many different things. Light bulbs, video games, germicidal lights, and TVs all use different types of light.

The sun emits a natural type of light which we come in contact with every day, that is oftentimes recreated artificially through special lamps and devices, as well as tanning beds. Other types of light are created artificially.

There are three common types of light that power most of your electrical devices. Whether it is a light bulb or a light used to make things glow in the dark, it is likely lit up by one of the three light types we will be discussing.

Read on to find out the differences and similarities between three types of lights: black light, UV light, and LED light.

Black Light

Black lights are what help us to see things that have properties to make them glow in the dark. They are a special type of ultraviolet light that emits hardly any visible light. This light is outside the range of light that human vision can see, making it essentially invisible.

This type of light can be used for a few different things, such as tanning beds, artistic effects (pops of color bright color and glow in the dark), attracting insects, disinfecting surfaces, and curing plastics. It can even be used medicinally, most commonly to help treat neonatal jaundice.

Black lights are available in many different forms, such as incandescent lights, fluorescent lights, LEDs, and lasers.

UV Light

UV light stands for ultraviolet light. It is one of the most versatile lights, as it can be used for a wide variety of things. UV light is the light that can give you a tan (and sunburn!) when you are at the beach or anywhere that sunlight hits you. This is known as UVB and UVA light, and it is emitted from the sun's rays. The light emitted from the sun's rays is a form of electromagnetic radiation. This is transmitted in various wavelengths and frequencies.

Too much exposure to UV light can damage the tissue of living organisms (hence, the sunburn). You get a sunburn through UVB rays specifically. When you tan and your body produces melanin, it is actually your body's response to try and protect itself from the sun's rays.

UV photons have very high energy, which can result in the process of ionization. This is when electrons break away from atoms. This process means atoms can either form or break chemical bonds. An example of this is when UV light is used to disinfect surfaces and uses this process to kill bacteria.

Most UV light that a person will encounter on a day to day basis comes from the sun. This energy is 95% UVA and 5% UVB. Both of these forms of broad-spectrum ultraviolet radiation are damaging to all living things.

You can also encounter it from artificial sources, which include tanning beds, black lights, germicidal lamps, halogen lights, and some lasers. When used in a handheld device, lamp, or machine, UVC (the strongest type of UV light) can be used to kill germs and viruses, which makes it a commonly used device for disinfecting purposes.

LED Light

LED is an acronym that stands for light-emitting diode. This light source is known as a semiconductor, which means that light is emitted when a current flows through it. While inside the semiconductor, electrons recombine with electron holes. This releases energy that comes in the form of photons.

Most of the time, the lights come in a variety of colors, such as red, blue, and green. The color of the light depends on the energy of the photons. This can be determined by how much energy is required for electrons to cross over the band gap of the semiconductor. Another term for the band gap is the energy gap.

If the desired color for the light is white, multiple semiconductors must be used. Another way to do it is for the semiconductor device to have a layer of light-emitting phosphor on it. No matter which way it is done, the result will be a light that is white in color.

LED lights are ideal for illuminating things. The reason for this is because, compared to all other light sources, they emit less heat and energy. Because of this, the light is more natural in appearance. If you are using them indoors or as a light source for growing plants, it makes LED light especially beneficial. However, if you need more intense light, you can go up in watts for a brighter and more powerful light.

One of the best things about LED lights is that they help you to save money. This means you will cut costs on your energy/electric bill. If you are looking to save money, then LED lights could be a smart option for you. A great light bulb to try is Boundery's EBULB Emergency Light Bulb. This is the first self-charging light bulb in the world. It turns on automatically when a blackout or power outage occurs.

When it comes to being energy-efficient, LED lights are the best available. Many people do not know that they use 75% less energy and last 25 times longer than incandescent lighting. That is a huge difference, which could easily mean huge savings for your monthly bills. Some experts estimate that, if within a few years most of the United States is using LED lights, the country could save more than $30 billion in electricity costs!

LED lights are different from other types of lighting (such as incandescent and CFLs, for example) for a few reasons. One of the differences has to do with the size of LEDs. Typically, they are no bigger than just a few millimeters.

One other difference is that LED lights only emit light in a specific direction, compared to other types of lighting that reflect the light in the direction the light is needed. Finally, an important difference is that they emit a very low amount of heat. This is huge, especially when compared to incandescent light bulbs, which release a whopping 90% of their energy through heat.

Light bulbs are not the only LED light product you can buy. In fact, there are a variety of products available that utilize this type of light. For example, if you need outdoor lighting, try Boundery's LumiGuard Solar LED Motion Sensing Floodlight

This is an ultra-bright light that is great for safety or as a source of outdoor lighting. It has a sensor light that turns on when motion is detected and turns off when no movement is detected for 20 seconds. The best part? It is solar-powered, which means no charging and no batteries. You will never have to worry about being in the dark outside again!

Be ready for any emergency or situation with Boundery's HD 2800 2.0 Deluxe Flashlight. It can give you light that extends up to 2600 feet away, and it has a floodlight or spotlight capability. When fully charged, you will have 4-6 hours of light. It comes with chargeable batteries.

Black light, UV light, and LED lights all serve different purposes. It is important to understand these differences in order to know how different types of lighting works.

UV light most commonly comes in the form of the sun's rays. The different types of ultraviolet light are UVA, UVB, and UVC, which is the strongest and does not typically reach humans because it is absorbed in Earth's ozone layer. UV light can give you tans and sunburns, and more importantly, it can help to kill germs and viruses in order to disinfect surfaces.

LED light is a common type of light used for light bulbs and other energy-saving light devices. The colorful LED lights (such as red, green, and blue) are used for electronic devices such as TVs and video gaming devices. They are the most energy-efficient and money-saving type of lights available.

Black light is invisible to the human eye and is known for helping things glow in the dark and make bright colors pop in the dark. It can also be used in tanning beds and for disinfection because it is another type of ultraviolet light.
